Sarie Weinberger

Sustainable Schools Associate, Sustainable Schools Initiative - Zero Waste Alliance

Sarie is currently a graduate student at Portland State University in the Leadership in Ecology, Culture and Learning (LECL) program under the department of Education Policy, Foundations and Education. She fondly refers to the program as “Education for Sustainable Development” for simplification matters.

Before joining the LECL program, Sarie spent a year in PSU’s sociology grad program where she fine-tuned both her quantitative and qualitative research skills.

In the past, Sarie has taught middle school students at a charter school in Colorado, garden-based education at a Portland middle school and conducted outreach for the Northwest Earth Institute.

Sarie received her BA in Sociology at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
