ISDF Selected by EPA to Submit a Grant for Developing Standards for Environmentally Preferable Electronics Products

This summer, ISDF submitted a proposal in response to EPA Funding Opportunity EPA-HQ-OPPT-2011-01: “Request for Proposals to Develop Standards for Environmentally Preferable Electronics Products.”

The ISDF team, led by Pamela Brody-Heine, developed and submitted a detailed proposal for managing and facilitating the development of an environmental performance standard for servers plus a second standard for a category of electronic product to be determined later. They also presented orally to the review panel assembled by EPA.

We are pleased to announce that EPA notified ISDF October 4, 2011 that its proposal received the review panel’s highest scores and ISDF has been selected to submit a formal application for a grant. An award will not be final until a notice of award approval is issued by the EPA Headquarters Grants Office. ISDF has additional work to do to formalize and add elements to the existing proposal.

This is a significant recognition of the strength of ISDF’s proposal by the review panel – and a vote of confidence in the ISDF team’s ability to manage the development of additional environmental standards for electronics. Congratulations to the project team!
